Goal of the ProjectThe East Coast Commercial ZEV Corridor project is a DOE-funded effort to develop a plan for commercial zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) infrastructure across the East Coast. As part of the project’s aim to understanding community needs across the corridor, the project is forming a Community Working Group of key stakeholders, to be facilitated by CALSTART, with the assistance of project partners Georgetown Climate Center and Clean Cities Coalitions between November 2023 and September 2025. Broadly speaking, the task is to identify community needs through direct communication and generate local support by exploring how I-95 corridor projects can deliver benefits to disadvantaged and low-income communities. This includes (but is not limited to): Clean Cities Coalitions, community-based organizations, and municipalities. The stakeholders will be representative across the entire I-95 corridor, as well as the National Grid project territory, to inform the National Grid Northeast Freight Corridor Charging Plan project and align commercial ZEV corridor planning across the East Coast. |
Key Issues
| The workgroup will do this by incorporating stakeholders into regular meetings to gather feedback and engagement on key questions and disseminate materials for review and input. In addition, participants may be placed on call for the formation of several targeted issue-based meetings which will to decide major project issues (e.g. assumptions of modeling, technology readiness, new strategies, market dynamics in a particular area, trends). |
